Interested in hosting the dove?

Hosts are invited to welcome the dove into their home for an evening — a dinner with friends, a conversation with family, or a gathering with community. Our only requirement is that Alex Odeh’s story, and the dove's journey, are shared at the gathering in a way that feels authentic to you.

After the dove moves to the next host you will receive a precise handcrafted replica of the original to keep, allowing you to become a long-term steward and docent of the work, using the dove as a catalyst to share Alex's story with anyone visiting your home. In this way, a single public sculpture quietly multiplies, dispersing into hundreds of homes and expanding the only public monument of an Arab American in the United States into a flock, each one carrying Alex's story forward.

When possible, and if you are interested, a representative from Grand Central Arts Center can attend to help share the story. We can also extend invitations to artist Jon Rubin and members of the Odeh family, depending on availability.

We are beginning by loaning the dove to individuals and organizations within approximately 30 miles of the monument (Santa Ana Public Library).

To apply, email us at grandcentral@fullerton.edu and tell us about yourself and who you might gather.
